This was heartbreaking to read. Life is too cruel sometimes.

*bump*

Will someone read this please? No agenda pro life or pro choice - just read it.

Abortion at 35 weeks.

Why not euthanise babies after birth too? Are the two really that different?

Yes, this baby had some a severe problem that would most probably impact its brain, but it can't always be predicted from these scans how much the brain will be affected.
In a small percentage of these cases the baby could turn out to be nearly normal, following the appropriate medical treatment.

Pregnancy is the most extreme condition, by far, than can be called normal. There is a very long list of things that can go wrong, and they often do. If the body detects abnormality, it will end the pregnancy. That happens more often than you'd think.

Frankly, it's a good example of why the state should mind it's own business. There is no good ending here, but forcing a women to bear that child would be barbaric.

I cried like a baby reading that. What the fuck causes a baby to have a stroke in-utero? It wasn’t really a miscarriage, it was a stroke. I hope smart medical science people figure out how to stop that from happening in future. No woman deserves to go through that.

One of the reasons why there has been such a pro-life swing of late among younger people is because the scans these days are actually amazing. They would have been able to see exactly what was going on in there which is why it was such a medical emergency.

That poor woman will live every day of her life, stewing on the same doubts you raised. There is no need for anyone to point out the ifs and buts..
