German town scraps road signs

Interesting idea, but I cant see it working on a large scale. Id also imagine that even the most straightforward of insurance claims would turn into a nightmare.

I think Solihull? in the UK have an unofficial roadsign scrapping operation going on.

It seems to be going quite well with various interested parties making a mint.

Drachten. I think it has some genuine value, as when you drive through an area where the boundary between cars and pedestrians is not well defined, you drive with far more care. I dont expect to share my road space with a pedestrian when driving, or expect a car to accommodate for me when Im walking.

From what Ive seen the country with the best drivers Switzerland, where cars crawl through towns, but outside towns their driving is characteristically efficient. See, anarchism works.
