Socialism's foundation is abstract versus concrete labor. When people stand up for hard work, they're already socialist.

South Carolina is where the fight actually needs to be fought, however. I would add that your particular example is a poor one since the state is changing for many of the same reasons that North Carolina is also changing--the same demographics are at play. That will produce both a reactionary hard right and a new left.

Don't recall the name of the title or author, but browsed through a book last week published in 2010 by a US reporter. He wrote extensively about Obama's preparations for Senate and Presidential races.

Obama was SOOOOOOOO a socialist, he spent most of his lobbying private time SLOBBERING with Wall Street executives. In a way, the 2008 Pres. election was one of the most rigged elections in US history. An Obama victory was a done deal, because unlike McCain Obama did lots of preparation, particularly to get Wall Street's support.
