Its weird but I've realized I am a much nicer person now that I don't give in to the anger and swear.

I do not censor. I just omit most swears. From time to time, I do swear. It is healthy to just let it out. That reminds me of an episode of Two and a Half Men.

Everything reminds you of two and a half men. You got a thing for Charlie Sheen or something?

I just find the show hilarious. I started watching it this summer and I find myself watching it just about every night. The show is very realistic and honest. I kind of like Alan more. He just seems nicer than Charlie. The housekeeper is the best.

You go girl! I learned that when I am angry, that is when I can really write. The words just seem to flow. That is a lot more productive than swearing. I try not to swear too much when I get really angry.

If you associate swearing with anger sure, but I've been exposed to swearing my whole life and have never really given a shit about the words that come out of my mouth. I don't analyze what possible psychological implications could be derived from my words, I strive for verbal precision. When I call someone a douchebag, it's not because they piss me off, it's because they are acting in a way that I believe is the generally understood idea of the way that douchebags act. When I say fuck it doesn't have to be said in anger, it is an additional word to express adamance about a phrase or idea, a word spoken when one makes a mistake/to indicate a correction, a placeholder to keep from pausing and sounding inarticulate, a verb that means the act of sexual intercourse, etc etc etc.

There is so much you are rejecting by rejecting swear words that I don't know how any speaker of the english language could do so without being a total moralistic idiot.

I feel like excising any small set of words from my vocabulary would not really have an especially large impact on the meaning on what I'm saying. Not very much more is communicated by "total fucking douchebag" than "right unpleasant fellow to be around."

I say fuck every other word, and I almost never get angry.

An authority figure couldn't respectably say the former because as we well agree it degrades a person's charachter and shows them to be vulgar, and not exemplary of good behavior. It's also intellectually lazy, f**k(ing) can be substituted with many words which isn't pedantic.

I wouldn't mount a crusade to stop people from swearing but that I chose not to shouldn't bother anyone either, House.

....because it's defined that way by society. I exclude cursing from polite conversation just like anyone else, but to say that you shouldn't do something because it's "vulgar" is about as asinine as saying that something is wrong because it's "illegal".

also:
f**k(ing) can be substituted with many words which isn't pedantic.

are you sure pedantic is the word you're looking to use here? fuck(ing) is the opposite of pedantic.

I always enjoy Millie's closeted conservatism.

I too have been trying to swear less recently. Every society has its vulgarities and taboos, and breaching these in polite company is coarse at best and offensive at worst.

There's a difference between polite conversation and informal conversation.

Is there any reason informal conversation need be impolite? Don't get around, when in the company of like-minded rough men, there's nothing wrong with being coarse. But otherwise, best to be polite.

Just because you're not having a polite conversation that doesn't mean you're having a rude or coarse one. Anyway eliminating the use of curse words is not the most polite thing anyone can do, and ettiquette is not necessarily polite either. Most of it is just arbitrary retarded stuff and structures that people put in place so that they can pretend to have manners while they act like assholes.

It's not quite as amusing as your closet metrosexuality, but interesting enough, I suppose...

1) Who the fuck is Goran?
2) Dave's a racist, on top of a misogynist.
3) I'm a miscegenist, so I can see where you'd make that mistake.
4) Dave's Nordic, I'm Italian-American.
5) Why so much hate? I think you're a little bit closed-minded.

You'd have to actually read the on-topic forums to tell the difference.

Dave ain't exactly Stormfront material. He's a racialist, which isn't the same as a racist.
