There has recently been talk of formal, professional-style debates here on Politics Forum. I've recently accepted an offer to 'captain' the Platonist debate team, and have been asked to assemble a team of like-minded forum participants of a similar ideology to defend authoritarianism, Platonism and totalitarianism in debate. I've already PMed two individuals for whom I have a great deal of respect for their opinion, as well as the erudite and precise manner in which they explain them - but I would also like to open up the team to other people. If you'd like to participate on the Platonist debate team, please post in this thread, detailling your particular set of authoritarian beliefs and opinions, and how you'll be of value in defending our ideology.

Jesse

I would love to join the debate, in this forum I have shown my autoritarian believes and I will defend them with all of my power. I would love to have starman2003 with me since him and me are much alike in ideas with a few differences but that is only normal. If you want me in the autoritarian team I would be honoured and will do my job with the utmost care.

I can't really post a list with my autoritarian believes, I can only refer to my former posts. I think I have a quick mind that can defend our ideology good against common and good arguments. I am relative unexp. in terms of autoritarian beliefs but I am eager to learn and will be more than ready when the first debate comes.

Jesse, please take a look at my post here:

As of this point, I don't know if I am going to be needed to judge, or if I am going to be available to debate for a team. Since you asked first, as far as teams go, if there is still a spot open and I am infact not needed to help judge the event then I will gladly join the P&D team and rain down airtight authoritarian propaganda upon our unsuspecting opponents.

I'm sure you are familliar with my particular line of totalitarian argument, as it so closely paralells your own. ;)

If the P&D team is already full, or is full by the time I find out wether or not I'm judging, then no worries. I'm sure you'll do quite well with or without me.

edit: i will not be required to do any judging this time around, so i am available for the P&D team, if needed.

Hi, Comrade Jesse. I would like to be on the debate team, if you think it best. I am a National Syndicalist and a part of the american fascist party. I also have done well in debates in the past. In addition I have read some of the works of Marx, Mussolini, and Patrick Buchanan. So as you can see, I am well versed in both socialist and nationalist authoritarianism.

If you are truly a good fascist, you will leave that party immediately, as they complain about "taxation without representation", use quotes from Thomas Paine, and call the government the "tyrant regime" because the U.S. government supposedly takes away our rights (?).

Vivisekt, I would greatly appreciate your participation on the Platonist team, and would like to formally invite you to join it. I'm torn between Der Freiheitsucher, Sapper and Starman for the second position, edging towards Sapper, simply because I'm more familiar with his beliefs.

As it stands, it is myself and Vivisekt, should he choose to join the team. I hope to have chosen the second person by the end of the weekend.

That's right: the AFP is a joke. They support the "bill of rights" and religious freedom but amateurishly insist on keeping the fascist title and expecting to come to power via elections that way. The only real fascists or wholists in the AFP were kicked out last February.

Indeed, why limit it to just three? There are at least five people here who could make a great contribution to the anti-democracy position.

There are four spots per team - debate rules are here.

Also, the new P&D team sig that I made is now posted here.

Four? I wasn't aware of that. In that case, it will be Starman, Sapper, Vivisekt and myself as Captain. Good to have that sorted out. I'd like those three gents to post here to confirm their participation. Thanks kindly!

Patrick Buchanan is hardly an authoritarian. He's a traditional conservative.

On another note, the Platonist team is the one I'm most excited to see in action (well, aside from the Libertarian team...). I especially am eager to witness you fellows pummel the Anarchist team. Good luck to you all.

I agree Dav. I think the Anarchist, Libertarian and Platonist Warriors will be the most exciting debates to read; the others will just shout the usual rhetoric.
