The ICC's actions against Sudan are fundamentally biased, hypocritical, malicious, and must be firmly opposed.

President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, Monday evening arrived in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, on a three-day official visit. He was received upon arrival at Nouakchott Airport by the Mauritanian President,Mohammed Ouled Abdul-Aziz, and a number of senior officials along with a big number of Mauritanian people. SUNA learned that the Sudanese - Mauritanian talks will begin Tuesday, co-chaired by Presidents Al-Bashir and Mohammed Ouled Abdul-Aziz. The talks between the two parties will discuss ways to consolidate the bilateral relations in different fields.

President Al-Bashir and Abdul-Aziz will attend the signing of agreements and memos of understanding which were worked out by the joint Sudanese - Mauritanian ministerial committee which is currently convening in Nouakchott.

Al-Bashir is accompanied during the visit by the Minister at the Presidency of the Republic, Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, the Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Al-Tigani Salih Fedail, the Minister of Social Welfare, Samiya Ahmed Mohammed, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ali Ahmed Karti, and the State Minister at the Ministry of Higher Education, Prof. Fathi Mohammed Khalifa.

The second session of the joint Sudanese - Mauritanian cooperation committee began Monday in Nouakchott, co-headed by the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Alnaha Bint Djaddi Oueld Meknes, and the Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Al-Tigani Salih Fedail. In an address at the opening sitting, the Mauritanian minister appreciated the firm fraternal ties between the two countries, affirming the existence of various opportunities of fraternal between Mauritania and Sudan in several fields. She hailed the political will shared by Presidents Omer Al-Bashir and Mohammed Abdul-Aziz for consolidation of the bilateral relations and the exchange of visits by the officials of the two countries.

The Mauritanian Foreign Minister said that the current meeting of the joint committee aims to review implementation of the agreements and protocols signed earlier in the first session two years ago by the two parties and to conclude new agreements for cementing the Sudanese - Mauritanian relations and cooperation depending on the mutual respect and interest. She expressed the desire of her country to benefit from the experiment of Sudan in the development, agriculture, irrigation, research, women and youth development, investment and social development fields.
