This is an archive of Hindustan times -1971 news

One of the bodyguards of Netaji subhash Chandra Bose claimed that Nehru, Gandhiji ,Jinnah etc had come to an agreement with British to hand over Netaji once he entered India so that he could be charged.

Strange! If its true...The real face of some people... and if this is true and its really shame for congress who takes credit for freedom of india !!! If this is how they treated the freedom Martyrs then they should be shameful on themself.... , and

recently congress Insulted Kargil Martyrs bcoz one of their Party MP Rashid Alvi seemed to suggest so on Wednesday, "that Congress consider Kargil as the BJP's war and not the entire country's?"

Congress MP Alvi said he saw no reason to celebrate the Kargil victory. "Kargil isn't a thing to be celebrated. The war was fought within our territory. We didn't even come to know when the Pakistani army crossed over and built bunkers inside our territory. It's only the NDA which may celebrate," he said.

If Alvi's views were shocking, former minister of state for home Sri Prakash Jaiswal couldn't even remember when the Kargil war was fought and won. Asked about Vijay Diwas, he wanted to know when the day was celebrated.

The BJP was swift to take criticise the Congress over Alvi's comments. "The UPA should not think along political lines. We (BJP) celebrate every day of national importance and respect everybody, right from Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, who contributed to the country. There should be a similar approach from the Congress," said BJP leader Prakash Javadekar.

National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah made it clear the issue was above party politics. "Kargil should be celebrated by everyone," he said.
