Haha some of the cartoons just make me laugh. I especially enjoyed the developing countries one with the two kids in it and the butler.

Pure idiocy. Why would a peacenik want the Iraqi Resistance to pick up guns and kill people? I can't believe this trash gets published.

From the Onion

EPA To Drop 'E,' 'P' From Name
WASHINGTON, DC—Days after unveiling new power-plant pollution regulations that rely on an industry-favored market-trading approach to cutting mercury emissions, EPA Acting Administrator Stephen Johnson announced that the agency will remove the "E" and "P" from its name. "We're not really 'environmental' anymore, and we certainly aren't 'protecting' anything," Johnson said. "'The Agency' is a name that reflects our current agenda and encapsulates our new function as a government-funded body devoted to handling documents, scheduling meetings, and fielding phone calls." The change comes on the heels of the Department of Health and Human Services' January decision to shorten its name to the Department of Services.

Saf - You'd be surprised. At my uni a few, very dedicated, socialist peaceniks put fliers up saying "Why we should support the Iraqi Resistance". Next to it someone had put grafitti saying "What? So we can kill British soldiers!"

Just to throw in a few comments:

1. Good satire = Jonathon Swift, Alexander Pope, Samuel Clemens

2. Comics are usually not good satire (most of these fall under "not clever").

3. Commenting on the satire is pointless. Talk politics in the other forums, post satire here. It would be cool if people could answer satire with satire.

Why do you assume that people who take the position of supporting the Iraqi national resistance are "peacenicks"? I'm not an expert in English language, but to me 'peacenick' sounds like 'pacifist'. Socialists are not by definition pacifists. For example, socialists like me oppose certain wars and support others.

it's more closely a synonym of Dove rather than pacifist.

Well, not all peaceniks are socialists. But these ones were. Part of the Revolutionary Liverpuddlian Students' Society or summat.

False.

Some good comics about Adolf the swine.
For german speaking comrades only!

http://ams.astro.univie.ac.at/~nendwich/Humor/Adolf/

The link is not working because some of the uppercase letters are obiviously changed automatically to lowercase letters by the editor?? And there are some random u`s added.

The correct location on the server is:

http:// ams.astro.univie.ac.at / ~nendwich / "H""u""m""o""r" / Adolf /

Is there a spell checker running in this editor ?
It should be disabled for links.

Blame videogames, awesome half-assed decision!

I believe it has deeper meaning then just GTA or video games in general.

What you see in that cartoon is a male who appears to be your stereotypical liberal from the north east. Note the hair, note the thing glasses.

Now he is saying the same old line we have heard from from certain groups, meanwhile his children go and embrace a culture of violence while he and his wife occupy themselves with anything but raising their own children.

The video game on the tv is but one manifestation of our violent culture in the USA. I think the author is addressing the faults of parents, the lack of family structure, the culture of violence and the way in which children are sucked in by it.

I do not think it was as simple as 'blame video games'.
