Damn, you got those peer reviews accomplished overnight.

I liked Cartertonian's piece on PoFo, and Verv's writing was entertaining as usual.

Cool, thanks for posting. Looks nice and professional in PDF format. I wish I could have gotten around to contributing, but I was too busy last month to dedicate serious time to it and I didn't want to do something half-assed.

Gut. Gut. Zehr gut.

It is quite impressive for a trial issue.

More specifically:

"The Geopolitics of the North: The Climax and Fall of Violence" by Ombrageux
Very good. But, I do not understand the following sentence: "The matter appears simple enough: since 1945 none of the great industrial states have gone to war." Did you mean "with each other"?

"The Geopolitics of China: A Rising Power Looks at the World" by HoniSoit
Very good. But, I do not see anything about the dimension of China's domestic state of affairs in describing the geopolitics of China as well as her future aspirations. May be you will continue with a second article in next issue to complete what is missing

"The Geopolitics of Israel: Israeli Perspectives on the Conflict" by War Angel
As I predicted the topic before: “Why stealing land from Palestinians is moral/OK when you are an Israeli”. Usual Israeli/pro-Israeli propaganda bullshit… To his credit, or not, the text was made understandable to 8th graders. A must read for observing how twisty the mindset of ordinary Israelis has become on this matter.

"Dunning-Kruger is Everywhere!" by ThereBeDragons
Very good. Very interesting. Striking diagnoses. Properly addressed the issue.

"A Social Mirror: An Analysis & Critique of Korean Comedy" by Verv
Very good. As expectedly. Quite revealing about Korean society.

"My PoFo Parliament Experience" by HoniSoit
Honisoit learned a lot from the experience. But, it seems he did not learn:
1- The constitution of the game was lame; and that was the reason why game failed.
2- It was not a good idea to mess with THP. :smokin:

Thanks everyone. Here is the PoFo blog dedicated to discussing everything related to the epub:

I specifically wrote from an Israeli perspective, and though I did, I gave almost no moral standpoint or opinion - only facts (though one was omitted by a last-second editing run, apparently :hmm: ).

I did not address the issue of 'stealing', by either side, only the subject of the territory itself, and some possible solutions. Did you, by any chance, miss the leftist solutions? How about those calling for the destruction of the Jewish nation? Perhaps your attention span did not carry you over towards that part of the article.

As for the text itself - while I've always thought it was obvious, my English is almost entirely self-taught and I did not aim to sound overly-pompous. My usual humour in writing was dried down to make for a more 'presentable' piece. Perhaps you could have worded it better? I wonder.

Still, thanks for the constructive, helpful and on-point criticism. :)

Thanks for all the comments and feedback all!

Vanasalus - Very pleased to see you've already read so much of the ePub! Correct, I had meant in the piece that the industrial powers never went to war with each other.

WA's piece is meant to show Israeli concerns, thinking and policy options. It is useful and true in that sense, including in the contestable prescription at the end (as all prescriptions are contestable). You are certainly very welcome to write a rebuttal or alternative perspective for the next issue :)

Nets - Lucky we are quick polymaths! Now Cookie Monster will be pleased, and that's what really matters.

I have to say, seeing PoFoMo up there between "The Politics Forum" and "Political Blogs" gives it a heightened sense of reality!

I only overflew it, 'cause i am lacking the needed time. The first impression is good, but i will make a full critique maybe over the weekend. The positions for the "Dunning-Kruger effect" i am not able to share initially due to my professional knowledge, but i have to research a little bit before i could be able to make a full reply to that article.

   so far!

Let me not. I have no experience with blogs and concept of blog. On top, I have no creativity in making webpages more attractive. I am sure there are many others who can throw their opinions about that.

That being said, I have another idea about ePub. Trial version looks impressive. Its content is appropriate as well as interesting. And, these editor guys spent a great deal of time in preparing ePub and they look enthusiastic about what they are doing. Cannot you create a new subforum, named ePub or something else, in the format of "Satire" subforum where an admin should open a new thread for every monthly ePub and we PoFoites discuss about it under the same thread. And, Cannot we have this ePub subforum just below Lobby and above Today's News.

This will bring ePub to the attention of many more users. Given the quality of the content, ePub looks deserving this. Plus, that would be an appropriate reward for the toil of editors. And, on top, a bunch of good quality articles in ePub subforum, now publicized before the eyes of al PoFoites, will help setting a standard for newbies as well as already established users.

What do you think?

This is actually a pretty good idea, but I believe part of the point of posting it in the blogs section is to draw more hits to that section. You have to see it from SF's perspective. You are only interested in the forums, so that's where you want to see it go, but to SF, the forums are already doing well so he doesn't need to draw extra attention to there, but the blogs aren't being utilized as much as some people said they would utilize them (myself included), so rather than continue to try to improve something that basically can't be improved save for adding more moderators, he would like to focus his efforts on bringing the PoFo blog from socialist victory to victory.

It looks good. I have not read all the articles, but I will. How exciting!

Next time, I will have a better article. I am working on one now, but it's nowhere near finished.

Any suggestion about next month's theme for PoFoMo?

We have Rootless Cosmopolitans so far. What does everyone think?

I think we are all guilty of that from time to time.
