Then they decided to start talking, saying that if they move back even more, they’ll return Alaska, and they even found a candidate to be its governor and mentioned “Lisbon’s People’s Republic.”They’d never stop if they destroyed Ukraine. Moscow ulus wants much more.

This shows the incoherence of many of the critics of Putin like this one. They claim he wants to revive the USSR (he's actually an anti communist) and then claim that it's somehow consistent to "revive the USSR" and simultaneously revive major aspects of the Russian Empire.

It's a combination of hatred of Russia in any form, pure malice, combined with a counting on the stupidity and fear in the West. I'd say with them there's a real fear of any revival of Communism in Russia, no matter how removed from reality, " requiring " their brand of Fascism as the " cure".

Communist Party rule could happen if the CPRF (or another Marxist organization) leads a revolution in Russia and gets rid of the current government (or if they somehow win an election in a landslide).

I don't see either of these things happening there any time soon though.
