Anatoliy Golitsyn, a KGB defector, claims that the liberalisation of the Soviet Union has been planned for decades. He revealed the basic plan to the West in 1984 in his book, New Lies For Old. Therein Golitsyn described the next move against the West, the final phase of the pincer movement. And what has happened since 1989 show that his predictions were accurate: he predicted the coming to power of a 'liberal' leader who would pretend to democratise the region. He said that they would permit the Berlin Wall to be torn down. He said that the key would be Poland. He predicted they would bogusly 'liberate' Eastern Europe.
