NY Gov. Kathy Hochul Tells Trump Supporters to Leave the State

“Get out of town because you do not represent our values. You are not New Yorkers.”

Wild! Is she handing out machetes for some Rwanda style genocide yet?

BS --

Which *narrative* is it going to be, the Trumpist election-denier line, or the prevailing, anti-coup presidential election -- ?

Note that it can't be *both*, so the *entire nation* would be kinda *hung up* on that little detail, and couldn't move forward with anything *else*, if the country / polity gave the MAGA outfaction any more slack.

What we're seeing is the tectonic power void being *filled* and re-asserted, officially, in a decidedly *anti-fascist* direction -- new political weather.

Why should such a statement bother them?

Like most people, they don't like it when someone does it to them. Lol.

I'd be tempted to call them / it a *cult*, but they're nowhere nearly that *cohesive*, each being their own private party, ultimately. They *can't* have any real politics, ever, because they're not even *social enough* for any such necessarily-social, quasi-collective groupings beyond that of a corporation. Leading up to Trump's political demise at Mar-a-Lago, by the FBI, there was nothing but *piggybacking*, political-hay-making off of *real* politics at the time, like what to do with Trump -- hence the counterattacking, bedwetting, etc. (grin)

It's not clear what the Trumpists, as a collective political grouping, actually want. Aside from more power for themselves of course. Trump himself doesn't seem to have a coherent political platform of his own. Which, of course, is probably part of his appeal - he can be all things to all people precisely because he is a nullity himself.

The governor of a state just told 5.4 million people to leave NY state because they don't agree with her politics. Very unamerican.

You believe that diversity, tolerance and inclusion sloganeering until it's no longer convenient for you.

Should all those republicans who don't abandon the state be forced to wear a MAGA red star on their clothing?

Granted, but this whole line really confers more agency / pro-active-ness to the MAGA crowd than is warranted.

The (political-contradiction existential crisis) 'creep' is spreading to the liberals / Democrats / establishment now....

Significantly, the focus of the editorial was on Trump’s attempted coup of January 6, 2021 and the ongoing conspiracy, backed by the bulk of the Republican Party, to establish a dictatorship with Trump as its head. The Times warned that indicting and prosecuting Trump would likely “inflame the bitter partisan divide, even to the point of civil unrest.” It referred to the violent response to the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, which included an armed attack on an FBI office in Cincinnati by a veteran of the January 6 assault on the US Capitol.

Right wing psychopaths talking about killing those they don't like is just dandy.

But asking them to go somewhere else is bad.

I wonder why we want them to go?

This is more of a 'you' problem, meaning *statists*.

Finish this sentence, if you would: 'When someone attempts a coup against the U.S. the punishment should be _______.'

Trump supporters don't represent any American values, anywhere. American values are not the values of racism, the lack of rule of law, being above the law, having a total disregard for the rule of law, disrespect to war veterans, disrespect to POWs, attacking freedom, taking rights away, and trying to establish a dictatorship and tyranny. Thus, I can understand why Trump supporters are not welcome. These are the values that Trump supporters represent and go against American values. Why would real Americans welcome them?

Just look at Trump having Top Secret documents lying around Mar-lar-go for any Tom, Dick, Harry, or foreign agent to just pick up and make off with them. I would be very wary about working for the U.S. government if I were a foreigner and assisting given this reckless disregard for sensitive information that Trump has shown. And, it's damaged our national security. Plus, the capital riots sought to overthrow a fairly and democratically elected government and attempted to establish a Trump dictatorship. These are not American values. These are the values of tyrants.

That's all they want, is power.
