About a week ago, I visited the Valley of the Fallen to see Francisco Franco's tomb. It was... impressive. A disgusting show of the effects of the cult of personality and mismanagement of resources, though more somber than Lenin's tomb. I was surprised that de Rivera was buried there as well.

I have a few pictures, though none any better than what you can find online. That's not the purpose of this thread.

Thoughts on such structures? It technically is not a tomb for Franco and Rivera, but for all the fallen of the Civil War, Republicans included. I do know many Nationalists are buried there, but do not know of any Republicans. Are such monuments good for a country to have?
