Lately I've seen ads on Youtube for a new political party called the Future Party and decided to check out their website:

http://futureparty.org.au/

The party appears to be centralist with a heavy technological focus. The main issue I have with the party is that it will cost tens of billions of dollars to implement their policies, although most of them would probably be beneficial in the long run.

I had a look at the website offered on the link provided. These people strike me as a bunch of cloistered naves. Typical of engineers, computer scientists and such like, they are very good within their field of knowledge but hopeless outside of it. I doubt they could even tie their own shoelaces.

The policies within science and education look OK. They offer some good ideas here. However, their views on religious funding will get them into a fight they can't win. They don't seem to have much of a foreign policy. What there is will upset our colonial masters in the CIA and Pentagon. Much of the rest of their ideas outside of their own field of expertise reflects the thinking of sheltered, privileged middle class bubble heads.

Now I might sound a bit harsh in my assessment of these fellows. So I want to reemphasize my point about them having good ideas in their own fields. I think they would be of value in a party with a boarder base as specialists in science and education policy.

Im currently studying foreign policy and i see Australia increasingly weakling itself (defence wise) leaving ourself exposed like we were in the 1930s. Also we see though out history every human society has experionce war, its as if its apart of ourself. 2000 years of history proves war like it or not, is apart of ourselves. its even said war is importent as its necessary to our continue evolutionary process.

If you want my vote you need to show that you will increase our defence, we had 3 aircraft carriers back in the 70s and now we are struggling to man 2 out of 12 subs, shows how our government have neglected our military and how we stupidly allow ourself to fell a sense of security when the world is becoming ever increasingly unstable and restless.

Their solution to defence is free flowing trade, investment, communication and movement of people, and then the likelihood of war is significantly reduced. I believe this is false, war is cause by religious, culture, historical or political conflicts.

I personally believe in "Si vis pacem, para bellum" (If you want peace, prepare for war), and so far only the liberal party and (keven's) labor ?(although lately they are poison to defence) are the closest to these idea.
