Mike Norman is a stock and other markets trader who believes in MMT. Among other things he gives investment advice for free.
. . . He explains how Mainstream Econ. often gets everything backwards, and why you can use this to make money. Recently he explains how when the Fed. increases interest rates, this adds fuel to the fire under the inflation. He points to the Fed's actions in the 70s as a prime example of this. And, when the Fed. reduces interest rates to stimulate the economy, this reduces inflation.
In his blog post linked below, he defines "inflation" as as *ongoing* prices increases. He sees signs that inflation will soon cool off, e.g. in the price of gas at the pump. He thinks that the Fed's plan to raise interest rates is, quote, "stupid", because prices will be falling soon anyway. He has 2 reasons the Fed will do it anyway. I have a 3rd. It is that the Fed sees what Mike sees and so wants to raise rates before the drop to take credit for causing the drop.
