This article was only available in French. But it says that Montreal's public bike rental system has received contracts from London (UK) and Boston (MA) to supply Montreal-made bikes and stations to these cities so they can set up similar systems to the that was introduced in Montreal this year.
Though public bike rental networks were invented elsewhere, the Montreal system is solar-powered and mobile. You can move stations around and add bikes to each station depending on demand/weather/need. The system has been an incredible success here, with the number of cyclists more than doubling.
So if you live in either of these cities, you will be seeing our bike system in your city next year.

Le concept du système de vélo en libre-service BIXI, implanté en mai dernier à Montréal, continue de faire du chemin. La Ville de Montréal a fait savoir mercredi que BIXI a obtenu deux importants contrats pour l'implantation de services similaires à Boston et à Londres.
Londres a annoncé mercredi que Transport of London a accordé un contrat aux firmes Serco et BIXI, pour qu'ils conçoivent, mettent en place et exploitent le London Cycle Hire Scheme. Ce service, qui sera une adaptation du concept BIXI répondant aux besoins de Londres, comprendra 6000 vélos, 400 stations et 10 000 points d'ancrage.
