Nostalgia : I lived two streets away from this building (it's a theater) in the 80's. There wasn't any tramway by the time, only buses...

Not the best, but Zagreb has a nice and easy network of trams.

They're beginning to replace those old ones with newer, flashier ones though.

Viennas "Bim". Quite nice and practical system that gets you to most locations in the city. At the moment they are all covered in the colours of the 25 EU memberstates to celebrate 10 years membership. Looks quite nice.

Sydney used to have the largest tram system in the southern hemisphere (and, if I recall correctly, the second largest in the British Commonwealth after London) but they ripped it all up in the late 1950s/early 1960s to replace it with buses. Thrams made a comeback a few years ago and there is now a line serving Darling Harbour, the Fish Markets and some inner city suburbs. There is also an extension currently being built.

They had more sense in Melbourne, where the tram system still runs. It's one of the things that defines Melbourne. Aside from the ordinary trams, Melbourne also has the City Circle trams - old wooden trams from the 1930s that provide a free service around the CBD.

The weirdest light rail transit system I ever used (though not a tramway) is Vancouver's driverless monorail. Driverless.
