Soviet Russia controlled its population by controling what information they had acess to. Media control is the key to population control. I could be wrong but it seems that latly the media is being directed to overplay meaningless journalism. Now I am not saying that the important pieces of journalism are not still present they are just buried under stories about celebrity DUI's. At this point it seems that either the media is trying to distract the public from the true issues that the public should be aware of, or humamity has become so stupid that the mating habits of celebrities is interesting. I prefer to belive that there is still hope for humanity and they could not be that stupid.
